FAQs
How do I know which service is right for my situation?
1.
We encourage to you to consider your most pressing questions when selecting a service. You may be simply beginning to wonder about a child’s development, or you may already have specific concerns and need language to request a referral, or you may have an upcoming diagnostic appointment you want to make the most of.
If you’re unsure where to begin, the Early Development Consultation is often a helpful starting point, and the Institute can help guide you toward the most appropriate next step.
What age children does the Institute work with?
2.
GoodSense Institute focuses primarily on early childhood development, when differences in communication, social engagement, learning, and play often begin to emerge.
Our consultations involve children in the 12 month to 6 year old age range.
Can childcare providers or reach out to the Institute?
3.
Yes. The Institute regularly works with childcare providers who are observing developmental differences in their setting and would value support in documenting those observations.
Educators may seek general support independently, or refer families with whom they are exploring developmental questions together.
Can this still be helpful if my child’s development turns out to be typical?
4.
Absolutely. Many families simply want reassurance or a clearer understanding of developmental milestones and variations.
Thoughtful developmental observation can help families feel more confident and better equipped to support their child’s development moving forward.
